As of Fall 2026, NEMPN’s Affiliate Program is officially replacing its former chapter-based model. Affiliates are other organizations or groups that support emerging museum professionals in a designated regional or local geographic area. Affiliates are organizations that NEMPN endorses and that align with our mission and values.

NEMPN will support its Affiliates by linking them here on the website and sharing marketing materials with the national network as appropriate. NEMPN will also support Affiliates in planning and implementing programming as availability allows. Affiliates will have the opportunity to apply for grants from NEMPN to support programming, and may also design and sell merchandise through the NEMPN storefront as a fundraising effort.
NEMPN will not provide financial support beyond what is stated above, nor will Affiliates be able to claim 501(c)3 status through NEMPN. Affiliates may wish to apply for nonprofit status independently, but should be advised that NEMPN can not provide financial or legal advise.

We ask that Affiliates support NEMPN by engaging in resource and knowledge sharing, supporting our marketing efforts as appropriate, and maintaining one standing volunteer member from their organization in the NEMPN Volunteer Committee (this person is expected to attend brief, monthly Committee Meetings and to contribute to at least one active NEMPN volunteer project per quarter).
